Dr. Sean Burnap

Sean Burnap

Sean Burnap is a recent graduate from King’s College London, where he studied Biomedical Sciences. He knew he wanted to pursue a career in academic research and thought the natural progression would be to study for a PhD. An interest in the cardiovascular system built up throughout the course of his undergraduate degree, leading him to be accepted onto the 4-year MRes/PhD Cardiovascular Sciences programme at King’s College London, funded by the British Heart Foundation. The initial masters year allowed him to be introduced to mass spectrometry and the Mayr lab, leading to the decision to remain in this lab to do his PhD. Since 2020 he is working as a postdoctoral research associate in prof Mayr’s lab.
